As a company that is deeply rooted in its homeland, we are also aware of our special responsibility which goes far beyond the quality of our products.
Quality
Our standard
We know that many of our products are used in the most intimate areas of the body. That’s why we adhere to the Children’s Toy Safety Directive and the strict German quality standards especially when it comes to the production of sex toys.
Not only do we have high standards for our products ourselves but there are also regularly changing specifications and regulations as to what may be contained in products. Our E-commerce and Wholesale customers also have quality requirements as well. Our aim is to comply all of these requirements.
For this very reason, we have an in-house quality management. From time to time, there are carefully lined up vibrators, which are switched on, in front of the quality management offices.
This is one way that we test their longevity which we’ve promised our customers. And yet we cannot rule out the possibility that products will have to be returned. To ensure that we can correct any production errors as quickly as possible, our Returns Department works closely with our Quality Management Department. Furthermore, many of our Wholesale customers even do without their own quality control because we check every delivery of goods – we take care of it.
Youth Protection
For education with responsibility.
The internet is a great attraction especially for children and young people. We are aware of our responsibility as an erotic retailer. For this reason, only people who are 18 years old and older can order products from ORION. In addition to that, only adults are allowed work for us – this doesn’t just apply to the employees in our headquarters but also to the models for our shop and our promotional material. Equally important to us, however, is education about sexuality. Striking a balance here is not always easy but it is an important mission because responsible sexuality does not begin at 18.

As a Flensburg company, the clubs in our region are also particularly close to our hearts. This also applies to the SG Flensburg-Handewitt. We have a long-standing partnership with the first division handball team – and not just because of the ORION moppers that keep the boys’ court clean. Our connection to the Nordfrauen, the handball players of TSV Nord Harrislee, is just as close to our hearts because they simply blow us away with their female power.
But we are also happy to show our full commitment in the social sector: If you were to line up all the condoms we donate on average per year to schools, educational associations or aid organisations, we would easily cover the distance between Flensburg and Salzburg. Many schools have natural dildos from our assortment floating around because we are regularly asked if we can help replace the old wooden models from the sex education lessons with realistic models.
Sustainability
Environmental protection can be so sexy.
At ORION, the concept of sustainability determines the entire life cycle of our products. We think that this not only includes the recyclability of our products but also how easily the packaging can be separated. All of our electrical items are registered so that they can become part of the recycling process.
Furthermore, our customers will not only find a recyclable product in the cardboard box but the boxes themselves are also environmentally-friendly. We only use recycled paper as padding.
Our retail customers receive cartons sealed with potato starch instead of clips and in wholesale we save about 60% of parcel tape when sealing cartons thanks to our new gluing machines.
The idea of sustainability will continue to accompany us in the future as we look for ways to best combine our work and the products we distribute with protecting our environment.
