The Challenge Cup Remains: ORION/Anthon Is Again City Champion In Indoor Football

For the fourth time in a row, the ORION/Anthon football team has become city champion in indoor football this week.

On overall six match-days between November and February, the company sporting football team comprising ORION and Anthon employees, played for the title of the city championship together with eight other teams in the school sports hall of the AVS (Auguste-Viktoria-Schule) The tournament was hold in a simple point round with two-legged tie.

On the sixth and seventh match-day, four teams startet having the chance to win the city championship 2015/16. Equal on points, the SG ORION/Anthon and DatRepair both were the first, however ORION/Anthon had a better goal difference of two points. The TBZ and the Krones AG were just one and two points behind. By beating the Krones AG team in the first match, the TBZ could protect its chance to win.  ORION/Anthon went on better and won 2-0 over the very strong team of SG KBA-Mitsubishi. So, ORION/Anthon expanded the goal difference of +4 over DatRepair, but only for a short time. On the last evening, DatRepair’s opponent could not provide a team anymore. Uncontestedly, DatRepair could win 5-0 and reached the top of the list, ahead by one goal. The game DatRepair against SG KBA-Mitsubishi ended in a 2-2 draw.

In the final game, the BSG ORION/Anthon played against the TBZ team. After five minutes of a quick game of these two strong teams, the SG ORION/Anthon went ahead, could extend the lead by an extraordinary direct game and a fast counter attack and won 5-1 over the TBZ team.

Besides the new red cup for the title „city champion in indoor football 2015/16”, the SG ORION/Anthon keeps also the great challenge cup of the Flensburg city championship of the company sporting football teams  for another year.

In 2005, the ORION Versand GmbH & Co. KG and the Anthon GmbH, both located on Schäferweg in Flensburg, founded the company sporting football team.
